Our team

​Wawazonia is a project managed and owned by the indigenous Shuar and Kichwa people. Therefore, All Ecuador staff are from the communities where we have our activities. We are not a large organization and do not have the budget to have permanent staff, but we all have some firmly defined roles. Each village has a coordinator and a permanent corps of guides for tourists. In addition, we use the elders of the tribes as advisers to our activities. The working language is Spanish, but we are used to receiving tourists and people with limited Spanish knowledge. Some of our guides also speak basic English.
